What is the MCDCC?
The Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee governs the Montgomery County Democratic Party. Its members are elected every four years in the gubernatorial primary, and they work directly with voters and constituents to organize at the local level on behalf of the Democratic Party. Its 24 members are comprised of two individuals (one male and one female) from each of the 8 legislative districts in the County, plus 8 individuals who are elected at-large to represent countywide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
GET OUT THE VOTE
To encourage people to register as Democrat to vote in elections, focusing on Montgomery County and Maryland.


ENCOURAGE POLITICAL PARTICIPATION
To participate in canvassing and other grassroot organization to register, educate, and empower voters to get involved because every vote counts. To engage volunteers to assist in distributing political literature, making calls via phone banks, canvassing, and promoting party visibility at local public events.
BUILD A
BRIDGE BETWEEN CANDIDATES AND CONSTITUENTS
To recruit candidates to run for elected office and to connect Democratic candidates with their constituents to form working relationships around the community. To faciliate the inclusion and engagement of young people in particular to participate in political campaigns and community service opportunities.


FILL VACANCIES THROUGH NOMINATION
To determine which individuals should fill seat vacancies in the Maryland General Assembly to represent Montgomery County, thus having the opportunity to bring forth nominees who will support the Democratic Party and positively shape the future of our County, our State, and our country.
